dBdone App

Collect Versions of a Project

This will combine all DAW files in the projects folder + sub-folders into the current project. This can be useful, if you have several versions of the same project next to each other.

NOTE: if you want to group different projects (e.g. into an album), you should use a stack instead.

Listen to Projects from Dashboard (dBdone plugin)

Option 1: Add an Audio File Directly

  1. Upload an audio file to your project.
  2. It will automatically play as the preview track.

Option 2: Use the dBdone Plugin in Your DAW
Capture snippets directly from your DAW using the dBdone VST/AU/AAX plugin.

  1. Open the Project: Always open your project through the dBdone app.
  2. Add the Plugin: Drag and drop the dBdone Plugin onto a track (e.g., the master track).
  3. Auto-Record Snippets: The plugin will automatically record a snippet in the background as you play your project.

Manual Recording: Turn off the Auto Recording and click the „Record“ button (turns red) to start manually. Play a section of your project, then click the button again to stop. The snippet is instantly uploaded to your dashboard.

Troubleshooting: Plugin Not Linking to the Project

If the plugin does not link correctly, follow these steps:

  1. Reset the Plugin: Use the reset option in the dBdone app.
  2. Remove and Save: Delete the plugin from the track (e.g., master track) and save your project.
  3. Reopen and Re-Add: Open the project again through dBdone and re-add the plugin to a track (e.g., master track).
Recognize DAW projects

dBdone does not recognize my DAW files.

  1. Go the DAW settings, choose your DAW and click the edit icon
  2. Add a path to the program you are using
Deleted Projects

You can delete projects from your dBdone Dashboard. But don’t worry, these projects will not be deleted from your computer. dBdone works only as an overlay and does not edit or move your projects.

Deleted projects will be stored under the „trash“ icon (right next to the „Sort“ function) and can be restored any time.

Backup & Restore

Need to secure your work or switch to a new computer? With the Backup & Restore feature (available on paid plans), you can safeguard your projects effortlessly.

How it Works:

Backup: Save all your project details—including audio previews, tags, tasks, notes, and more—to your computer. Upload the backup to your preferred cloud or external storage for added security.

Restore: Simply click „Restore from Backup“ in the app and upload your saved file to restore your dashboard instantly.

Project Locations

These are your music folder(s) containing your DAW files.
You should only add the top-most folder(s) where your music projects are. Automatic scanning will do the rest and find them.

Ignore folders:
These folders will be excluded from the automatic DAW file detection.

Project Phases

In the settings under „Projects“ you will find the ability to customize your Project Phases. Create new ones, delete or rearrange it any way you prefer. Create your own project phases like „Sold“, or „Ready to send out“. Our goal is to help all music producer create their own perfect workflow with dBdone.

Tags

dBdone simplifies project organization by automatically generating tags such as DAW used, tempo, RMS, measure, and plugin link status.

Enhance with Custom Tags:

  • Create personalized tags to filter and sort your projects even faster.
  • Tags can represent genres, instruments, or any project insights.
  • Use emojis creatively, like a 5-star rating system or fire icons, to add a personal touch.

Make dBdone your ultimate productivity space by tailoring it to your unique workflow!

Stacks

Organize your projects visually by creating Stacks. These can be collections of projects for an album, playlist, or any custom workflow that suits your needs.

  1. How to Create a Stack:
  2. Right-click on a project.
  3. Select „Add to Stack.“

Create a new Stack or add the project to an existing one.

Stacks provide a flexible way to structure your projects, empowering you to craft your unique workflow.

Renaming projects

You can rename your projects within dBdone without affecting the original project file name.

  • Use the Project Name Generator if you’re not feeling creative.
  • Easily revert to the original file name at any time.
